Joy McCann Culverhouse has been a major supporter of the University of South Florida Health Sciences Center, fostering the development of high-impact clinical programs and research in swallowing disorders, allergy and immunology and breast cancer as well as career development programs in medicine for minority students. She is also a major supporter of programs to foster academic achievement among student athletes. Mrs. Culverhouse, former owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was a championship golfer, earning both the Alabama and Florida state women’s titles during her career. She maintains an active role in leading foundation initiatives and supporting innovative programs. Throughout her lifetime, Mrs. Culverhouse personally, through her business entities and through the Joy McCann Foundation has given over $60,000,000 to charity. |
